When someone mentions "Vicky Gao," people always ask, "Is that the girl who takes photos?" The answer is yes. With her ancient camera, she roams the hallways, taking candids and going on adventures to capture captivating landscapes or cinematic street photos. As a person who loves trying new things, Vicky has experienced lots of hobbies; this does not exclude her favourites, such as visual arts, dancing, and gaming. She dances to hip-hop at A3 District with many of her dance friends. During breaks, she would play Minecraft and Valorant, then potentially rage after a losing streak. At least there is something keeping her alive during her demanding class schedule. One wish Vicky hopes for after she dies is that she wants her memorial to be a vibrant butterfly bench in a community flower garden. Vicky expresses her love by keeping her Lego flowers alive and healthy.

One thing I enjoy outside of school is singing. Whether it be on my own singing around my house or karaoke with my friends, I enjoy singing because it helps me take my mind off anything that is stressing me. Additionally, I love when I harmonize with other people because it's satisfying and fun. Singing has also brought me multiple opportunities to perform. Recently, I have performed for a charity event and it was a great learning experience. I enjoy singing because it alleviates stress, allows me to make connections, and provides me with great opportunities.

Faith Duong

Burnaby North ('24)

Director of Logistics

“The best thing about baking cookies is that it’s easy to share!” - Faith Duong For Faith, baking gives the opportunity to connect with others. Along with her family’s secret recipes, Faith’s mother showed the importance of engaging with her communities. When Faith is not in school, you can find her on the streets of the Downtown Eastside with the Good Guys or at local food hubs, working to alleviate food disparity. No matter how early she arrives, or late she stays at school, Faith always has treats in hand to encourage the rest of her team. As an executive of her school’s Student Government and a mentor in their Leadership Program, she’s prepping events before school and supervising them after school. She only does things she genuinely likes…or at least tries to find the joy in them. You will never catch Faith without a smile. Despite the number of failed doughs and batters that pile in her kitchen, Faith continues to tackle each recipe until the perfect baked good is made; she is an optimist that does not quit to make communities match her visions of potential.

Kendra Duhamel

Kendra Duhamel

University Hill ('24)

University Hill Club President

Ever since the first time Kendra visited New York City, she felt destined to live there. The livelihood of the city gave it an edge over other destinations she had travelled to. It was the first of the destinations that was accurately encapsulated by the movies Kendra had seen. There was no need to fib about its characteristics because it is already the ideal. Although New York is a top location for many, Kendra still holds it close to her heart.

June Zhang

University Hill ('24)

University Hill Club President

As a senior at University Hill Secondary School, June is delighted to serve as a co-president of one of Good Guys' school clubs. Living in Vancouver for years has allowed June to be in contact with an incredible group of people on the most beautiful land and she is more than grateful for her community. Yet, living in the area has also taught June that the disparity between available opportunities and care remains high and that it takes everyone’s dedication to support the ones in need. Motivated by this, June has decided to join The Good Guys to bring her goals into action and help raise awareness of the stigmas surrounding homelessness. Apart from her time with The Good Guys, June enjoys going on runs in the nature, replaying Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey songs and baking pastries in her kitchen. In the future, June wishes to be able to work in the healthcare field and help more people by providing support for their wellness.
